This trip takes you to sacred places, roots of Hinduism and Buddhism.

Among the believers, monks and sadhus, you will visit Kolkata: The City of Joy , The Sun Temple and Vizag city: City of Destiny. Under amazing landscapes, with incense and flowers smells, come to live an unforgettable spiritual and cultural adventure.

Day 1: Arrival in Kolkata

You are greeted at Calcutta airport by the representative of our local agency or by your French-speaking guide to welcome you to India. He will provide you with the transfer to the hotel that we have reserved for you for two nights.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 2: Kolkata:

After breakfast and for your first day in Kolkata, a visit to the Jain temple of Pareshnath, erected in 1867, is planned. You then leave for Mother Teresa's house. It is the headquarters of the Missionaries of Charity, an order founded by Mother Teresa, and it is here that her tomb is located. Nearby, a museum looks back on his life and presents objects that belonged to him.

You then continue with a walk in the artisan district of Kumartuli.

Later, you discover the Maidan, Dalhousie square, Shahid Minar, Oberoi grande hotel, Victoria Hall, and the colonial buildings of the British Raj (Writers Building, High Court, St John's Church).

Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 3: Kolkata: (Night by train)

After breakfast, you are given free time in the flower market near the impressive Howrah Bridge which you cross on foot to reach the station where the train was filmed. Lion film. continue with a visit to the very lively Dakshineshwar temple, a Shaivite sanctuary dedicated to Kali, as well as the Sova Bazar and the discovery of the Indian Museum which houses an exceptional collection of Buddhist sculptures from Gandhara.

At the end of the afternoon, visit Marble Palace.

Dinner and night by train.

 

Day 4: Kolkata / Bhubaneswar:

Arrival at Bhubaneswar railway station and transfer to the hotel.

bhubaneswar tour:- Parasurameswar temple (7th century AD), Mukteswar temple (10th century AD), Rajarani temple (11th century AD) and Lingaraj temple (11th century AD), visit And Khandagiri tribal museum

Dinnet and night at the hotel.

 

Day 5: Bhubaneswar / Ratnagiri / Dhenkanal (150 km / 4h):

After breakfast, drive to Dhenkanal. Visit Buddhist monastery ruins, ancient stupas-chaityas and archaeological dig sites at Ratnagiri and Udayagiri dating from the 2nd to 11th centuries AD.

Dinner and night at the hotel.

 

Day 6: Dhenkanal:

After breakfast visit Silk Ikkat weaving village at Nuapatna and Lost wax making process (Dhokra casting village at Sadeibaruni by Ghantra.

After lunch, visit the Joranda temple and the cult monks of the Mahima monastery.

At the end of the afternoon, see their rituals (Arati, evening prayer son) by the monks.

Dinnet and night at the hotel.

 

Day 7: Dhenkanal / Puri (80 km / 1.5h):

After breakfast, direction Puri and on the road visit Dhauli, the temple of 64 yogini, the Hira and Pipli candles of the village.

Afternoon, visit the Puri Jagannath temple from the top of a roof in front of the temple (non-Hindus are not allowed inside the temple).

Dinner and night at the hotel.

 

Day 8: Puri / Konark / Puri (100 km / 2h):

Today, after breakfast, Visit Konark Sun Temple, a World Heritage Site.

Also visit the fishing village near Konark.

Afternoon or evening, stroll through the narrow streets of Puri and visit the activities around the temple (4 km in total, 1.5 hours of walking).

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 9: Puri / Chilka / Gopalpur (300 km / 5 hrs):

After breakfast drive to Gopalpur and visit the heritage artisan village of Raghurajpur. In Raghurajpur, every house works on traditional palm leaf carving and Pattachira painting. Here too, enjoy the traditional Gotipua dance and have a typical Odishan lunch in the village.

Afternoon, visit Chilka Lake by boat to observe migratory birds and dolphins.

Later, drive to the seaside in Gopalpur to spend the night.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 10: Gopalpur / Chandragiri / Taptapani / Rayagada (265 Kms / 6 hrs):

After breakfast, day trip to Taptapani visiting tribal villages Kumiti, Saura and desia Kondh.

Visit the sulfuric spring at Taptapani and the weaving village of Padmanavapur.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 11: Rayagada / Dukum / Rayagada (120 kms / 4h):

After breakfast, proceed to Dukum to attend the weekly Desia Kondh market and visit Jhigidi village where casting is held.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 12: Rayagada – Chatikona - Rayagada / Semiliguda (220 km / 4h):

In the morning after breakfast, head to Chatikona market to see the Dongria Kondh tribe, different from the others with their distinct dresses and jewelry.

After lunch, drive to Semiliguda to the tribal villages of Boro Paraja and Desia Kondh.

Dinner and night at the hotel and Semiliguda..

 

Day 13: Semiliguda / Onkudeli / Visakhapatnam (260 Kms / 7h):

After breakfast, drive to Onukudeli market to see one of the most primitive tribes in the world, the Bondas and Gadabas.

Typical afternoon lunch in a small tribal restaurant.

Later, the road to Visakhapatnam(Vizag).

Dinner and Night in Visakhapatnam(Vizag).

 

Day 14: Visakhapatnam / Kolkata (Domestic Flight)/ Return:

After breakfast, transfer to Visakhapatnam Airport for flight to Kolkata to catch your return flight.

 

Note:

  • The program for the first and last day may change depending on the schedule of your arrival and departure flight.
  • For domestic flights in India we are allowed 15 KG in the hold and 7 KG in cabin baggage.
